Sleek Blush by 3 in Lace

I've been wanting this blush palette for AGES and I finally have it! I've heard so many great things about Sleek, from the pigmentation to the price of their products, and wanted to try out their a few of their blushes. So, a week ago, this little treat arrived in the mail and I ran all the way down the drive waving it in the air like an idiot. Isn't she a babe?

I know.

The first thing I thought when I opened the package was : "Wow, this is so...Sleek!"

Seriously. No pun intended. The casing is just so gorgeous, I love it!

My first impressions of the inside were that the mirror was a really handy touch, the blushes were beautiful colours and indeed, amazingly pigmented. Super soft, the blush is easy to apply and I can tell this will last me a long time, as you only need the slightest amount on a brush to make your cheeks look really great. At the moment, for a natural look, I really like blending crochet and chantilly as they are the two matte colours of the palette - guipure is a peachy colour with rosy gold shimmer in it.

At first, I actually wanted the Sugar palette, but many beauty reviewers had commented on how it was the least pigmented trio of all the Blush by 3's, and I didn't feel that the darker plum colours would suit my skin tone. Lace seemed like a safer option and I have no doubt in my mind that it was the right choice for me.

This is becoming a firm favourite of mine. Massive 10/10. Sleek, you are amazing. Good quality and inexpensive, this is a must buy! If this ever runs out, I will be repurchasing.

Paradise

Be warned, there are MANY photos of sunsets in this post - they were amazing. Also, random pictures of food feature.
Kind-of disappointing, waaay over-priced frozen yoghurt...still good on a hot day, though!

Petit-fours
Yum!

Good old Macca's soft serve.

A very rich cake we made with our home-stay.

I tried to climb it but got queasy half-way up, so I cautiously made my way down and went snorkeling, instead.

Saying goodbye to Phare Amedée, the island we relaxed on for a day.

I'm pretty sure I fell in love with New Caledonia while I was there. Everything was just so beautiful.

Nouméa

Last week (Saturday to Saturday), my friends and I hopped on a plane and escaped the chilly spring weather here in Auckland. We went to Nouméa, New Caledonia, to relax on the beach and forget about upcoming exams.

Beautiful, isn't it?
The view from the hotel.
This is the national bird of New Caledonia, the cagou. It's a flightless bird and sadly, endangered. However, these two are safe in a wildlife reserve. The one with the outstretched wings is the mama, and the other one is her baby.

Albino peacocks. Not shy at all, this one walked right up to me.

A potato and bacon galette. Not mine. But tasty.

My ham, tomato, mozzarella and goat's cheese galette - delicious, but too big, I ended up leaving half of it untouched.

Some people were smart enough to order crêpes - they were light and not too filling.
On the walk to the taxi boat that took us to a teensy little island where we went snorkeling.
After our first night in the hotel, we left to live with home-stay families for about six nights. This is the view from their house. Cool, right?

More pictures to come soon!
