The Body Shop Body Puree Lotion

Hi!

Exams are finally over! I'm free (for the time being - another set next term) and decided to do a beauty review on one of my favourite perfumed lotions. Yes, I know The Body Shop products are realllly pricey but I just adore them. I really strongly believe in their cruelty-free ethos. I have this re-occurring fantasy that one day, I'll walk into my room and on my dresser will be the entire strawberry range...

I know, it's a sad dream...

I'm a sad person...

Anyway, for my sixteenth birthday, I was gifted The Body Shop's Japanese Cherry Blossom body puree lotion. Now, a puree is apparently a gel-like lotion, and like most of The Body Shop's products, this one is one very highly scented. It's a beautiful perfume, floral and not too sweet. I am seriously frugal with the lotion so I only use a bit, in place of perfume, on my wrists and neck.

It's amazing and melts into your skin incredibly fast, with no yucky residue. A rating of 9/10. One point knocked off for the price. Still, a very good product.

aww...look at the little hearts...

You've Got Mail - Movie Review

Hey there!

Today was my second driving lesson. It was a wet, rainy morning but at least I didn't end up on the kerb/curb this time. After, while I stood in line for a breakfast coffee, the Starbucks scene from You've Got Mail played in my head.

"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short. Tall. Light. Dark. Caf. Decaf. Low-fat. Non-fat, etc. So, people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolute defining sense of self. TALL! DECAF! CAPPUCCINO!"

(Joe Fox - Tom Hanks, You've Got Mail, 1998)

By the way, mine was a grande caramel macchiato. I know, I'm original...

So, anyway, as I got in the car, I told my parents about how I pretended to be Meg Ryan in the coffeehouse.  Then...The Cranberries started playing Dreams on the radio. Now, if you know the movie, you'll know that Meg Ryan walks down the pavement with the song playing in the background. Naturally, I freaked out and decided that I needed to write an appreciation post because, clearly, somebody wanted me to.

Now, I'm a fan. I'm a BIG fan of this movie. This is an intelligent movie. I'm a sucker for teen comedies like Mean Girls but this is great film on another level. As my Dad once said, bringing You've Got Mail up in a conversation puts you on another level of cool. Or "happening", as he put it.

It's a romantic comedy about a guy and girl (played by Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan) who fall in love, anonymously, over the internet, but happen to know and hate each other in real life. Great for a family movie night. Anything naughty is cleverly worded for the little ones not to understand.

Watch it. It's a beautiful movie.
