Vogue

Hi!

I finally (because it takes a while for magazines to get here from overseas) got my September issues! I also contracted a pesky chest infection...and spent the entire week under the weather. I grew accustomed to eating crackers and sleeping at irregular hours but my magazines are here!

Yes. September must be a very busy month for the Vogue employees...over 915 pages...That's at least three novels.

A lot of reading.

Off to read. Happy Sunday (for those in the Southern hemisphere...), what a joy Monday will be.

Father's Day

Hi there!

Happy September/ First of Spring/Father's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been such a hectic week, with seven exams (I calculated and together, they were 20 hours long. Appalling!). At least it's over...well...until next month...

This Father's Day, Mom and I made a fresh cream and pineapple cake. It was delicious. It's also finished.

This last one is the card I made for my Dad.

Wellington

Hi!

Our school choir just got back from The Big Sing Finale in Wellington. It was amazing! I don't have any pictures of our performances at the moment, but I did take out some photos:

This last one is what I found in my room when I got home to Auckland.

Bye for now!

Book Review: Anna and the French Kiss

Hi there!

Okay, so I'm trying out reviews for a while on my blog. Let's see how this goes, shall we? By the way, I will only do reviews of books and movies that I think are worthwhile, so don't expect any scathing remarks or rude comments from me.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is an amazing book, full stop.

Anna, the main character, is shipped off to Paris by her father, in order to go to a prestigious boarding school. Apart from not speaking French - which would be rather a large problem, I think - Anna is thrown into a world quite different from her own. She meets new friends, a particularly pig headed girl called Amanda and the very gorgeous Étienne St. Clair, who, I admit, makes my toes go all tingly. Étienne is about as close to perfection as lovely foreign boys get. Think British accent, French name and a good sense of humour and, well, need I say more?

Anna and the French Kiss is a really light, clean and funny book. I think anyone between the ages of fourteen and eighteen would enjoy it. A good plot, just enough romantic scenes - nothing too mushy, and the perfect amount on Parisian flair make a really good read.

Ciao for now...or should I say, à bientôt!
